Posted on  19/04/2010  |  2010, Programs & Events

The Local Business Development Program is a platform to stimulate thinking and dialogue on issues, challenges and practical learning that are important for local business development in Brunei. This year’s format will consist of two workshop seminars and one forum conference.

The Local Business Development Forum

“Tiny Ripples – Huge Wave: Creating Greater Competitive Advantage for Local Businesses”

18th November 2010 @ the Empire Hotel & Country Club

“For Brunei Darussalam, one of the most important lessons from the financial crisis is the necessity for us to expedite economic diversification” His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in the Report Brunei Darussalam 2009.

As the government is moving towards enhancing opportunities and greater competitiveness for local SMEs, these enterprises must rise to the challenge to play stronger roles in economic development and diversification. How can SMEs do this?

The Local Business Development Forum will feature interactive open forum discussions on important issues surrounding the business environment, brand equity, growth opportunities, managing through tough times and how SMEs can leverage from the strengths of multinational corporations in this time of promising change.

The Forum is a platform to stimulate thinking and dialogue on issues, challenges, and assess emerging needs of small and medium businesses and practical measures that can be taken to improve competitiveness. It is also a platform to exchange views with established industry leaders in Brunei. The forum will bring together over two hundred business owners, top managers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and government officers in a format that is designed to foster learning and networking.
