25 – 26 September 2019
Empire Hotel & Country Club

Now on its 13th year, the LBD Program is a platform for Brunei MSMEs to develop capabilities and competitiveness by providing resources for them to learn proven real-life lessons and experiences, discover new ideas and solutions, and build networks.

This year’s theme was:

How to Leverage the Digital Revolution

The Digital Age is opening up new challenges and opportunities to business as a result of rapid advances in technology and connectivity with customers and markets locally and beyond Brunei. There is an increasing urgency for Bruneian local businesses to understand how the future is unfolding, and how digitalization can help them improve their competitiveness. Those who choose not to face these new conditions come under threat.

The LBD Program 2019 components were:

  • An LBD Forum on 25 September 2019 for up to 200 founders, entrepreneurs and managers of local businesses;
  • Two concurrent LBD Workshops on 26 September 2019 for up to 40 participants per workshop;
  • A curated showcase featuring 15-20 highly promising startups and small businesses from various industries.

The attendees learned:

  • Brunei in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: How Can we Benefit?
  • What are the implications of Cloud Computing, Big Data, A.I. and the Internet of Things? How do these change the way we do business?
  • Competing and Winning in the Digital Age
  • Human Resilience in a Digital World: Surviving and Succeeding in the Face of Failure and Uncertainty
