Asia Inc Forum & iCentre to hold 6th THINKBig Innovate Forum
Seri Begawan: Brunei’s premier and largest conference on technology and entrepreneurship, the THiNKBIG Innovate Forum, is set to see its sixth edition take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at The Empire Hotel & Country Club, the co-organisers – iCentre and Asia Inc Forum – announced Tuesday.
This year’s forum, according to a press statement, is set to carry the theme of “Breakthrough: Transforming Business through Innovation”, and will focus on how innovation, creativity and multimedia have a role in driving the Brunei economy forward.
Farah Ahmadnawi, Corporate Communications Officer from the iCentre is quoted in the press statement as saying that the upcoming THiNKBIG Innovate 2013 will bring up interesting topics of discussion focused on current innovative culture and creativity. “It will be carried out in a format that aims to both inspire and ignite entrepreneurship and innovation in Brunei, which is one of the main focus points of the iCentre,” she said.
This year the event will focus on innovative trends such as 3D printing, which is becoming one of the most talked about technologies, she added.
“This is a great example of how specific technology can lead to great innovation,” Farah highlighted.
“We hope to see our local entrepreneurs to follow this path in the near future.”
The upcoming forum will feature distinguished thought from leaders and entrepreneurs from around the globe, including Andrew McGlinchey, Senior Product Manager pf Google Southeast Asia; Jonathan Buford, the Co-Founder of Makible 3D Printing; Dr Dina Ibrahim, an Associate Professor at San Francisco University & Founder of Mahtob; and Nickson Fong, the’ Founder of Egg Story Studios Animation, with many others to be announced.
Alongside the forum, a start-up showcase will take place in which local start-ups, incubatees and entrepreneurs will be featured. The showcase is aimed at creating opportunities for local and global industry stakeholders and the public to meet, connect, network, exchange experiences, ideas and knowledge in the context of innovation.
The THiNKBIG Innovate Forum, supported by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), is co-organised by the iCentre and Asia Inc Forum in collaboration with major partners Baiduri Bank, Alcoa, TOTAL and associate partner Indramas.
The forum is expected to bring together 250 delegates from the ICT industry, government, business community, educational institutions, students and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Registration is now open and early bird rates are available until Friday, October 4.
