ABOUT APEC CHINA CEO FORUM

China, as the second largest economy in the world, plays an ever increasingly important role in the APEC region and beyond. Understanding the rise of China, how to build and strengthen relationships and how to assist in its goals and challenges of sustainable development continues to be on the forefront of business leaders globally. With this in mind, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Asia Inc Forum, the Strategic Partner for the majority of the APEC CEO Summit’s over the past decade, decided to convene the APEC China CEO Forum in June 2012.

The APEC China CEO Forum intends to build relationships between the Chinese business community and that of the Asia Pacific. The aim of the Forum is to bring together key stakeholders, both from within China and internationally, who want to better understand the opportunities and challenges of doing business with China in the context of APEC. The Forum also aims to complement the APEC CEO Summit and raise the profile of the Summit, particularly to Chinese business leaders, and highlight China centric issues that can be further discussed at the Summit.

APEC China CEO Forum will provide a dynamic platform for the CEOs to interact and network, for a better common future.

WELCOME STATEMENT

On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are delighted to announce that the APEC China CEO Forum – the first of its kind – will be convened on 6-8 June 2012 in Beijing.

The Forum is intended to be complementary to APEC’s business goals, and will be an auspicious milestone in the run-up to the region’s business summit in Russia in September.

This year’s theme, “Challenges of Development”, will give us an opportunity to reflect how far we have come, and what we must pay attention to. At the core of the APEC China CEO Forum are more than 300 stakeholders and leaders representing organisations that are at the forefront of the 21 APEC economies. These great minds will gather to explore the Chinese economy, industry and technological developments that are reshaping consumer behaviours and the future.

We are planning a memorable networking and learning experience that will deliver a greater understanding of doing business in and with China. The program will include some very distinguished speakers whose insights and opinions have shaped the Chinese agenda and regional cooperation, sessions on foremost opportunities and challenges, and dialogues with key Chinese Ministers.

We are confident that this will be a worthwhile opportunity to build new friendships, networks, and opportunities in China and across the larger APEC region.

With best wishes,

Forum Executive Co-chairs:
