Daryl Arnold

CEO OF Newton Circus

overview-daryl-arnold Newton Circus is a technology company inventing communities and services designed to make urban and rural environments more livable, competitive, and sustainable. Prior to Newton Circus, Daryl was the co-founder & Group CEO of Profero a global, independent digital communications agency. From a small office in London organically built Profero into a team of over 500 planning, creative, media and technology talents working in 14 countries for clients such as Apple, Diageo, Johnson & Johnson, Lufthansa, Mercedes-Benz and PepsiCo. In addition to the day-to-day agency business encouraged and supported enterprise in areas such as Advertising Technology, Mobile Content, Music and Retail.

Jonathan Burford

Founder of Makible

overview-jonathan-buford Being the driver behind the business, handling strategy and core development management, in 2011, Jonathan Buford along with Felix Lam founded Makible which enables digital manufacturing by developing 3D printing and related technology for people to create, design and build products. Based in Hong Kong with a dedicated 3000 square foot facility for both development and production, Makible is able to deliver digital manufacturing machines and supplies with a streamlined process. They foresee providing print on demand and digital content in the future as well as applications for creating relevant content.

Steven Lai

Co-hosts at Channel News Asia & Anchor at News Now

overview-steven-lai Steve currently co-hosts Channel NewsAsia’s weekday noon bulletin Asia Connect and anchors the hourly afternoon news belt News Now. Some highlights of his work include fronting coverage of the US Elections, the London Olympics, and the 2012 European Championships (Football). Steve also presented Imagine Singapore 2030, a documentary produced by Channel NewsAsia tracing Singapore’s transformation from a congested backwater town to a modern metropolis.

Dr. Dina Ibrahim

Associate Professor in the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Department at San Francisco
State University

overview-dina-ibrahim Dr. Dina Ibrahim is an Associate Professor in the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts department at San Francisco State University, where she has been teaching Radio and Television News Production courses since 2003. Her research interests include the role of television talk shows in post-revolution Egypt and the impact of negative news images on self-perception among Arab and Muslim Americans. Professor Ibrahim is also interested in investigating the role of individual reporter perceptions among international correspondents. She has reported for the BBC World Service Radio in London, CNN in Atlanta and Cairo, NPR in Austin, Texas and United Press International in Cairo.

Andrew McGlinchey

Senior Product Manager at Google, Southeast Asia

overview-andrew-mcglinchey Andrew McGlinchey joined Google in 2008 and is now the Head of Product Management for Southeast Asia, bringing Google’s wide range of products and services to the region, and across emerging markets. Prior to Google, Andrew worked on such diverse domains as developing conversational agents and automatic video editing at startups, improving voicemail at Nortel and building the user interface of Windows Vista at Microsoft.
