GREEN has never been more “in” as Asia Inc Forum plans to improve upon last year’s Green Showcase, an event to highlight eco-initiatives by both public and private sector held in conjunction with its National Environment Conference to be held on June 8 at the Rizqun International Hotel.

Featuring CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives on environmental sustainability by the corporate sector, as well as green programmes by government agencies and educational institutions, the “Let’s Go Green” showcase also aims to promote an alternative, healthier lifestyle with a host of eco-friendly products and services.

The showcase is set to highlight innovative green technologies focusing on water, waste management, building and transportation.

It will also feature green art comprising photographs, drawings and shortlisted/ final entries to the 2011 Youth Go Green Initiative Awards, and a Eco-Video Competition of the International School of Brunei (ISB).

Last year’s Green Showcase saw the participation of over 20 businesses, government agencies, and institutions.

Among the products or services showcased at last year’s exhibition included the Toyota Prius, the Bandar Seri Begawan Masterplan, waste recycling and the vetiver plant.

Nanette Ramos, the organiser’s conferences manager, sais, “We hope that the “Lets Go Green Exhibition” showcasing latest environmental trends, CSR initiatives and youth projects will further raise awareness of the environment, encourage environmental efforts in Brunei and help create a sustainable society.”

Even more importantly, she added, “the exhibition highlights the vital role of key services, technological innovations and product solutions in accelerating the green industry”.

As a platform for dialogue, the National Environment Conference 2011 offers decision-makers a unique avenue for discussing matters of importance, stated a press statement from Asia Inc Forum.
