Seminar on Blue Ocean Strategy

Brunei Darussalam is gearing towards partnership in research and development in the area of life sciences, as consumers today are more conscious of the environment and it is indeed trendy to be green and organic. Through research and innovation some noble products can be discovered such as natural colouring, health products, natural herbs and many more that can create multi-billion dollar businesses. This was underlined by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources at the opening ceremony of a Seminar on Blue Ocean Strategy.

The function was held at a hotel in Jerudong.

Dayang Hajah Normah Suria Hayati binti Pehin Jawatan Dalam Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama Doctor Haji Mohamad Jamil Al-Sufri also said that through channels such as today’s seminar, SMEs can acquire the vital tools to help them better manage their business issues and at the same time, enhance their awareness of the right strategy for them to address challenges.

The Seminar themed “Creating Breakthrough Growth in Your Business” brought together over 60 SMEs from various industries including retail, food and beverages, oil and gas, real estate, ICT, logistics and consultancy. The seminar which is part of the 2012 Local Business Development Program that is now in its 9th year, aims to continuously nurture the development of Brunei SMEs by helping them to develop and grow their businesses through quality learning and building relationships with their peers in business and with other relevant organisations. The seminar is to provide the opportunity for SMEs to assess and review their current business strategy.
