Professor Dr. Chong Wee Fong

prof-dr-chong-wee-fongProfessor Dr.Chong graduated from University of Otago, New Zealand in 1984 with a major in Industrial Engineering and Manpower Studies. He went on to do his postgraduate studies in Organizational Behaviour with Heriot Watt University (UK) in 1996 and Postgraduate International Diploma in Health Services Management with Edith Cowan University, Perth in 1999. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy In Business Administration from Southern California University for professional studies in, 2004.

Professor Dr.Chong is the Adjunct Professor for American National University (Harvard Business School Online Educational Partner) in 2002 and Southern California University for professional studies for the Faculty of Business Administration and Management Engineering Technology.
He also sits on the Journal Editorial board of the International Technology Management Review (Commonwealth of Australia Department of Education, Science and Technology).

He is also the co-ordinator for Integral Leadership Centre – University of Western Australia and Australia Institute of Management in Perth for the Management Programs and Leadership development programs. He has taught for world class universities such as Southern Cross University (Australia), University of Southern Queensland (Australia), University of Sunshine Coast (Australia), University of Sunderland (UK), Heriot Watt University (Scotland). Professor Dr.Chong is trained in New Zealand in Medical Herbalism with the Australasian College of Herbal Studies in 1991.

He obtained his PhD in Homoeobotany Medicine with the Homoeobotanical Institute in Auckland in 1992. Professor Dr.Chong is currently the General Manager for AEC Sdn Bhd, official distributor of Panasonic air conditioners in Brunei Darussalam.

 

Gary Lim Kwok Chuen

Co-Founder and Project Manager, Kin-Ethics

gary-limGary is the Co-Founder and Project Manager of Kin-Ethics Company. His academic background includes Bachelor of Technology in Computer Systems and Networking from Curtin University, Sarawak, Malaysia, and a Master of Business Administrator (MBA) from University of Brunei Darussalam.

After completing from UBD, Gary worked as Technician at Gawi Company, Brunei. He worked with them for 8 years and has risen from a technician to Network Analyst cum ICT Manager in the year 2006. Within the 8 years, he did some external projects and voluntarily works such as Secretariat for Karate-Do Section during the 20th South East Asia (SEA) Games in Brunei, the Question and Score Board on Computer for Explomaths, School website with Online School Education Record System Demo and Wireless Network for Curtin Campus-Village Student Housing.

Being the technical expertise, Gary was the project leader for the Network Analysis and Monitoring Project, Graphical User Interface. As well as project leader in the BTEC HND Project: Microprocessor-based DC Motor System and the Foundation Project: Whistle-controlled Electric Switch.

Gary led the Kin-ethics Team in the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Challenge and achieved the Golden Award 2012. Kin-ethics Company was awarded with BEDB LEAP Grant in 2013 to develop a working prototype. Gary has involved in the designing, engineering of the prototype research and development since 2011 as well as managing the company till date.

 

Delwin Keasberry

Commercial and Prosperity Manager, British High Commission
Brunei Darussalam

delwin-keasberryDelwin works with the British High Commission in Brunei as the Commercial and Prosperity Manager. This role involves taking forward the Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s Prosperity priorities in Brunei and working closely with UK Trade & Investment, the British government’s trade and investment promotion organization, which includes low carbon and green technologies.

Delwin is also popularly known regionally by his online moniker, “BruneiTweet”. He is currently the most followed social Bruneian Twitter account with over 20,000 followers. He actively creates local content, shares and spreads social news through his online channels.

Delwin holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Business. Apart from spending time with his close-knit family, Delwin loves coffee, CrossFit and community.

He has moderated at various regional forums including: ASEAN-China Young Entrepreneurs Forum, Brunei 2013; Beach Bunch International Roundtable, Brunei 2013; National Environment Conference, Brunei 2012 & 2013; Think Big Innovate Forum, Brunei 2012 & 2013; ASEAN 100 Leadership Forum, Manila 2011.

 

Hj Shaharuddin Khairul Hj Anuar

Acting Deputy Director, Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, Ministry of Development

hj-shaharuddinHj Shaharuddin began his career as a civil engineer at the Public Works Department in 1993. He attained his chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers UK in 1996, and the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1999.

In 2004, Hj Shaharuddin joined the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation. He is responsible in the planning, design and implementation of projects related to the environment, particularly in the areas of waste management, including the overall management of waste collection and disposal in Brunei Muara, Tutong, Belait and Temburong and also Kampong Ayer; the Development of Solid Waste Management Master Plan for Brunei Muara and Kuala Belait; the Sungai Brunei Clean Up ; the Material Recovery Facility for Used Tyres in Bukit Udal; and the Development of Toxic and Hazardous Treatment and Disposal Facility for Brunei Darussalam. He is also involved with environmental quality monitoring, and technical matters relating to land, water and air pollution.

He acts as a focal and resource person for various working groups under the ASEAN framework on the environment such as trans-boundary haze, environmentally sustainable cities, and climate change; and various multilateral environmental agreements at the international forum like the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol, Montreal Protocol for Ozone Depleting Substances, and the Basel Convention for the control of transboundary movement of toxic and hazardous substances.

Hj Shaharuddin is currently the Acting Deputy Director and Head of the Pollution Control Division at the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, Ministry of Development.

 

Jeffrey Hung

Project Manager, Daikyo Environmental Recycling
Brunei Darussalam

jeffrey-hungMr. Jeffrey Hung holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Double Major in Management and International Business from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. Prior to his tertiary education, in his secondary years, he has been heavily involved in International School of Brunei’s One Million Trees Planting Project out of personal interest.

Joined Daikyo Environmental Recycling Sdn Bhd in early 2013, responsible for the day to day operations of the company and long-term goals of the company. He represents the Managing Director at the highest level and is a key decision maker on matters within his scope such as human resource and adminstrative matters. Matters involving public relations are also under his scope as he deals with the media and publicity machine. Frequently liaises with local media and the public with regards to the company’s activities such as recycling campain collaboration and awareness promotions.

 

Ruey Chong Narcis

Area Governor, Toastmasters International Club – Brunei
Brunei Darussalam

ruey-chong-narcisRuey Chong Narcis is an active member of the Brunei Advanced Speakers club which is affiliated in Toastmaster’s International, a worldwide communication and leadership training non-profit organization. A member since 2006, she has held various leadership positions within the executive committee as Club President and Vice President Education, a role dedicated to developing club members through training, coaching and mentoring. She also conducted Youth Leadership Programs under Toastmasters, to a number of schools in Brunei as a team leader and facilitator.

Ruey has 18 years of experience in change management integration in the financial services industry and has worked for Midland Offshore and HSBC Group in Brunei, Singapore, Hong Kong and Channel Islands. She has led many strategic changes within HSBC with her ability to adapt well with change and her strong people and project management background.

She is currently pursuing her dream in becoming an accredited Coach, Trainer and Change Consultant.
