Vinod Kesava

Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer, The Green Asia Group
Singapore

vinod-kesava Vinod firmly believes that good financial performance in economic terms alone is not the measure of true sustainable behaviour. Actual advancements in economic performance must be equated with the ability of stakeholders and organizations to reach out to the people of the regions in which organizations operate to ensure that there is a true benefit to all concerned.

Vinod has been involved in the carbon and renewable energy markets in Asia and Europe since 2001. Between 2003 and 2007 he co-founded, designed and successfully implemented the world’s first carbon trading exchange. A clear system of transparency and price-discovery for the carbon markets were established at that time. Vinod originated and developed over 40 projects under the CDM and other sustainable energy initiatives.

Vinod has also undertaken projects for an International Wafer Fab Clean Room Facility and a European Pharmaceutical Company, both developing in Singapore and availing themselves of the Design for Efficiency (DfE) grant offered by National Environment Agency (NEA). The DfE grant assists companies to undertake Integrative Design Process (IDP) charrettes alongside their chosen consultant, together developing solutions for reducing energy and natural resource use in both Capital Expenditure and Operational Costs.

Recently, Vinod has led the TGAG team to introduce IDP to a 53,000 sqm data center in Singapore, and an urban mixed development of 300,000 sqm in Myanmar, with energy efficiency and long-term sustainability, a prime focus for both. The IDP approach has led to actual, long-term and measurable solutions being developed for these clients.

Vinod has a very keen sense of developing sustainable projects from a holistic approach and gets his ideas across to stakeholders from a very practical and down-to-earth perspective. He is well versed in the GHG Protocol to develop sector-wide approaches in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Behaviour that leads to the identification of new emission reduction opportunities that produce cross-border sustainable development while preserving environmental integrity.

Vinod provides a visionary approach through whole-systems thinking. His strategic and practical advisory expertise and development of performance metrics for clients has led The GreenAsia Group in delivering millions of dollars in savings for clients in CAPEX and OPEX as well as overall sustainability measures.

Vinod is also a regular keynote speaker for international conferences and symposiums.
