Influential Speaker At THiNK BIG Innovate Forum 2012

Bandar Seri Begawan – THiNK BIG Innovate 2012 is set to make a big impact as the forum seeks to explore how ICT can become a big part of the creative industry in Brunei.
Kim Davidson, Co-founder, CEO and President of Side Effects Software, will deliver a keynote address on “Creativity Beyond Borders” at the Innovate Forum. Side Effects Software is the world leader in 3-D animation and visual effects software which produces the multi-award winning software animation called Houdini for use in film, commercials and video games. Houdini has been used to create digital animation in blockbuster films such as The Avengers, Captain America, Inception, Avatar, Spider Man, the Harry Potter series, among countless other works.
Mr Davidson has twice been recognised with awards from the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences for his technical contributions to the film industry. He received the J Wesley Graham Medal in Computing and Innovation from the University of Waterloo. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Pre-professional Architecture and a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
“Over the years the computer graphics industry has experienced a wave of global expansion, especially in Asia-Pacific. This growth has been fuelled by huge consumer demand for digital content as well as an explosion of skills development,” said Mr Davidson. “Add to that extensive support from regional governments and it becomes clear that this growth will continue for years to come. Global expansion in digital media is real and we are both experiencing and embracing it.”
Mr Davidson will also join the multi-track session on the evolution of digital multimedia in changing the game in the ICT industry.
