iCentre, Asia Inc to hold dialogue on emerging tech in business

AS PART of the THiNK BIG Innovate Dialogue Series, iCentre and Asia Inc Forum will be organising a dialogue titled “Emerging Technologies and the Drive to Innovate” on February 16, 2012.

Asia Inc Forum in a statement released last week said that the dialogue, which will be held at the iLotus Restaurant, will be led by Dr Gyorgy Ladics, the chief operating officer (COO) of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and international director of Fajr Capital Ltd, with the objective of discussing how technology and innovation can be used as effective tools to grow a business.

“Among the highlights include looking at the technologies that have transformed the business environment over the last two years, expected trends, how businesses should leverage on the emerging technologies and common challenges for Bruneian enterprises,” Asia Inc Forum said in the statement.

The dialogue is aimed at bringing together chief technology officers, government officers, entrepreneurs and executives, under one platform where they can discuss about practical approaches on adapting to the evolving needs for innovation.

“It will help attendees gain a detailed understanding of emerging technologies that impact businesses and innovation,” the release stated.

Dr Ladics was previously COO at Barclays’ (Emerging Markets Region).

He enabled Barclays’ geographical expansion and entry into new markets like India, Pakistan, Russia and the re-launch of businesses in United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Uganda by providing essential operations and technology capabilities.

Prior to joining Barclays, he was vice-president at Citigroup (Central Europe Region), where he held various senior positions including COO of Czech Republic, head of Technology for Central European Region, and senior operating officer at Hungary.
