Bandar Seri Begawan – Asia Inc Forum, in partnership with Alcoa, Butra HeidelbergCement, Total, HSBC and supported by the Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata will convene a half-day Brunei Business Forum on September 15 at the Radisson Hotel, according to a press release.

The forum’s guest speaker, Mr Steve McCoy, a prominent strategist in Malaysia and founder of Counterpoint, a boutique consultancy firm based in Kuala Lumpur which provides support services on sustainability for the corporate, government and nonprofit sectors, will tackle sustainable approaches to reaping opportunities.

Steve’s approach rests on the simple understanding that challenges confronting the world today offer a broad canvas of opportunity for all three sectors: corporate, government and non-profit to secure a better tomorrow.

He maintains a conviction that maintaining the status quo is no longer a viable option.

His experience working in the business, education and non-profit sectors in the UK, Poland and Malaysia gives him good insight into the challenges facing multi- stakeholder teams and recognise unfolding sustainability trends, research and evaluate needs in the marketplace while guiding innovative strategies that align an organisation’s environmental principles with market potential.

Prior to this, Steve was the CEO of the Force of Nature Aid Foundation, a fundraising and grant-making body specialising in the long-term recovery of communities affected by natural disasters. The Brunei Business Forum is meant for CEOs, entrepreneurs and members of government to dialogue around business prospects, issues and best practices.

“Whilst we recognise that many of the businesses here in Brunei are beginning to be aware of the need for sustainable approaches and practices in their operations, implementation is still very much in the early stages hence, we would like to facilitate that shift effectively through this forum by providing the right platform and relevant resources,” says Stuart Kemp, Executive Director, Asia Inc Forum.
