BANK Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) has signed on as a partner to Asia Inc Forum’s Women Rising: New Aspirations, New Challenges seminar on August 5.

The Women’s Forum to be held at The Empire Hotel & Country Club is expected to have around 200 women participants from the business community, government, academia, entrepreneurs, members of women organisations and social circles.

The forum will allow them to learn, network and share experiences on key issues, challenges and the roles of women in making a difference in the areas of personal and family finance, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Nurul Jafriah Abdullah, a chartered financial consultant and manager of the Wealth Management Unit under BIBD’s Investment Banking Division, will also be taking part in an open forum on managing money challenges, along with Carol Yip, a certified personal finance coach and author.

This year’s Women’s Forum will feature women achievers from abroad, including Datin Marina Mahathir, distinguished columnist, socio-blogger, women’s rights advocate and daughter of Malaysia’s fourth Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and Veronica Colondam, founder and chief executive officer of Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa, an Indonesian organisation that has a strong track record in protecting young urban children from drugs.
