Author of “Silicon Dragon” to attend THiNK BIG Technology Forum 2010

The upcoming THiNK BIG Technology Forum, co-organized by the iCentre and Asia Inc Forum for the third time, will be taking place at the Empire Hotel on 28 October 2010. The forum will bring together over 200 delegates and leading players from the ICT industry as well as individuals overseeing technological applications in business and government.

They will come together to learn and assess how leading innovative technology enables business connectivity and efficiency, its impact on society, the economy and the government.

One of the sessions of this year’s event will be a special luncheon address on “Building Social Intelligence for Businesses” by Ms. Rebecca A. Fannin.

Rebecca is an authority on entrepreneurship, innovation and venture capital in emerging markets. Her book, Silicon Dragon (McGraw-Hill, 2008), was favorably reviewed by The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times and translated into several languages. Based on her expertise, Rebecca wrote a white paper on outsourcing trends for KPMG’s Thought Leadership Series.

Currently, Rebecca is a contributor to Forbes. During the height of the dotcom boom, Rebecca was international news editor at Red Herring and, in 2003, she joined the Asian Venture Capital Journal as international editor.

Rebecca’s work has appeared in Inc., Worth, Fast Company, Chief Executive, Wired, The Deal and Huffington Post, as well as Merrill Lynch and NASDAQ publications. Earlier in her career, she was deputy editor at Ad Age International and editor of the Pulitzer-owned International Business.

The event will also feature dynamic sessions that would discuss current Global Trends and Challenges with Mr Ken Wye Saw, Vice President, Public Sector, Asia, Microsoft, and an international e-Government expert will lead a forum discussion on “e-Government: Connecting with the Citizens” with key figures in Brunei’s e-Government program.

Lastly, a session on “At the Heart of Innovation: Delivering World Class Technology in Brunei” will feature Mr Kevin Walsh, Chief Technology Officer of Oracle Asia Research who will share knowledge about applying new technologies businesses.
