Asia Inc to host 5th NEC Conference

THE Asia Inc Forum will be hosting the Fifth National Environment Centre (NEC) Conference June 20, 2012, at The Empire Hotel & Country Club.
In its press release Asia Inc Forum said that the conference with its theme, ‘Conserving Our Natural Resources for a Sustainable Future’, will focus on the cooperation of public and private sectors towards creating and putting into action conservation practices in order to tackle resources issues and management.
“The programme will look at the future of water, energy, and education for sustainable development, issues around consumption and wastage, and resource efficiency” the press release said.
Speakers from the United States, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia be present to share best practices and insights for implementations.
There will also be presentation of the Youth Eco Documentary Awards which aimed to acknowledge the achievements of the young generation in promoting the message of conservation, environmental awareness and stewardship.
Jointly organised with the Science Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre, Ministry of Education, International School of Brunei and Jerudong International School, the Youth Go Green Initiatives Award is themed “Our Resources, Our Future”.
There will also be a Green Expo alongside the conference that will feature various achievements of organisations and companies in the aspect of sustainability. It will also showcase the latest technologies and eco-friendly products that help protect against the misuse of resources.
Convened by Asia Inc Forum in collaboration with HSBC, Total, Butra HeidelbergCement and Alcoa, NEC serves as a stage for dialogue for businesses, government environmental practitioners, civil society, educational institutions and other stakeholders.
